"Hurry up Kes. I don't want my new bear to maul my star attraction."

Kes didn't respond. Mostly because it was cold, and he was sleeping soundly in the little warmth his wings had managed to gather.

"I said hurry UP--" the tone of annoyance in his voice gave way to a swift punch at the boy's cheek, the little one releasing a cry of pain as he was rudely awoken.

Kes didn't want to move from his spot. The rest of the wooden cage floor was frozen with the cold air around them, making his bare limbs seem to burn if he touched the boards. He didn't remember his cage being outside when he went to sleep the night before. What was going on...

He didn't have time to think, already feeling that all too familiar rope leash around his neck. The griffin obediently stood up and walked out onto the snow himself. A few silent whimpers as his feet shouted in protest was all the sound he was allowed to make. The Ringmaster was leading Kes towards the storage tent, in anticipation to place the boy in a smaller cage.

Growl...

The sound caught Kes' ears and the new scent his nose. A quick glance behind him revealed another animal handler having trouble pulling a muzzled cub into his own cage. And the bear was fighting. Vainly.

I-I'm really sorry Mister Bear... Kes began in his head. Now you have to stay here too...

//all these themes would work a hell of a lot better for Seth but like in comparison Kes is so innocent and is the only RP chara I have atm that actually cannot defend himself in any way at all

Even then I think that's a pretty tiny cage for a cub lmao

Quick sketch and colour which took freaking too long what
I shaded Kes mostly in blue and purple shades but the filters kinda drown that all out

And somehow today this is rather relevant for me? Since today is Abolitionist Sunday.
