Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa - Kalafina :music:
(In the Stillness of the Shining Sky)

So... today I finished reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman and I was in tears like srsly how could you end the series like that
I know it was the only logical and right ending to do but still it was a very bitter bittersweet ending //cries so hard
It's pretty unique that way though. I havent encountered anything remotely similar yet.

I began reading Sandman in 2012 since my school library had copies of the collector's editions. I had to give up though because they only had half of it.
No library I've been to since seems to have it, so I finally decided to download the entire thing just to finish reading it (also because I have a companion guide from the library I need to return soon so I needed to finish the comic first so I could read the guide and interviews). Also because there's been recent news about another attempt to make a Sandman film. I just can't wait for it to be all Neil-approved and wonderful skldfjs

just SANDMAN skldjfs you get to know Morpheus as this sort of distant, apathetic yet awkward all-powerful dreamlord and see him crash and burn and trip over himself time and time again. Not to mention the fact that he is awfully dramatic over breakups with girls over the years and is an absolute dork and jerk at the same time when he's hanging out with the other Endless (esp Death and Delirium amggg).
just... how could a godly character be written with such faults? Gaiman just wrote him so well. I loved every bit of Dream. He's gosh darn adorable that's what!

This is based off issue 49, the final chapter in the Brief Lives arc. I'm not sure if I like this chapter because of the imagery, or because it was the beginning of the end, or because Morpheus was so darn tragic in this one. I just... loved it. Brief Lives and Preludes and Nocturnes were by far my favourite storylines, The Kindly Ones just tore me up so much, and ugh the bonus pages of The Wake got me bawling.

Gaiman seriously deserved all the praise he got for Sandman. It's aged pretty well too, despite it being from the 90s. It was such a joy to read your stuff, Neil. I can't wait for Overtures. Just hope DC doesnt delay publications beyond April cos I am needing so much Sandman right now--

haha this reminds me of the time Amanda Palmer visited our school and ravenwing136 and I were like DANGIT WHY COULDNT HER HUSBAND COME TOO I LOVE HIS STUFF
