Whew this actually took a really long time but I'm happy with it! I doubt I'd win anything but hey, worth a shot. Had to finish it tonight in case I'm not home by deadline tomorrow evening.

I jumped at the opportunity mainly because I'm delving into DC stuff, DC animation mainly. In terms of TV series, I've only really watched the Batman from the 90s, aka Bruce Timm's Animated Batman cartoons.

I am... always hesitant to say that I loved Batman Beyond way more than the original Batman TAS for some reason. I mean, I loved Batman but Beyond actually kept my focus during the drier episodes. I was going to draw Terry AND Blight together but I narrowed it down to one. Also mainly because there aren't any entries yet of Blight ;u; He's such a badass villain who unfortunately only had one season of screentime.
In short - after being exposed to a fatal dose of his own nerve gas, Derek Powers underwent heavy chemotherapy to stop the sickness which resulted in a mutation that caused his entire internal structure to become hot and radioactive. He's Batman's archenemy in Batman Beyond.

I wish that Bruce Timm and the team actually finished Beyond properly, but I can't complain - three seasons of Terry being adorable and arguing with grumpy old fart Bruce Wayne is just precious. And a tie-in film that really messed me up in places haha
I do recommend giving Batman Beyond a go! I remember when I first looked it up when I got into the Batman cartoon and basically cringed at it... but it's been an amazing ride and it's aged surprisingly well.

The background and colours are inspired by the finale of season one of Batman Beyond, 'Ascension'. It only felt appropriate since this was when Blight revealed his secret identity and basically the entire episode revolved around Terry confronting him in revenge and Blight not giving a single care in the world amg
